When Unplug Soy Candles was started back in 2015 in Jennifer and Joe’s basement, Jennifer’s main goal was to create a great smelling candle in a beautiful vessel. That led to selling her candles to family and friends, and eventually at the local Noblesville Farmers Market. A few boutiques asked to pick up her line; she of course said yes!

Next thing Jennifer and Joe knew, the basement was too small for all the candles that they were making, so they started to look for a new spot. They found the perfect little location in Fortville, IN and opened up a retail store! All the candles were made next door in our production studio. Unplug Soy Candles had about 10 team members. We had a great two years there, but once again we needed more space for all the candles we were making!

We found a great spot about 15 minutes down the road in Fishers, IN! So many of our customers lived in the Fishers area, so we knew it was the right move to make. After several long months of construction (and a pandemic!), we opened the doors to the Unplug Soy Candles you see today. We now employ almost 30 awesome team members, divided between production, retail and behind-the-scenes work. Our candles are sold at more than 700 stores across North America, and we have recently expanded into Europe.

What’s the next move for Unplug Soy Candles? Well, we have outgrown our space AGAIN! We recently purchased a few more units in our complex and will be moving our production into a larger space in the next few months.
